Meet our Board Members

Prelude Home would like to introduce our Board Members who are here to serve our community.

Carrie Hastings
Founder

As a mother of 4 and grandmother of 10, I have worn many hats. As a young teen I became one of my parents’ caregivers. During that time and since I have been called to care for many family members and friends that were in their time of need. I am honored to be able to help them. When my children were young, I owned and operated a licensed daycare, and as they grew, I became a Girl Scout leader for 18 girls (7yrs), Jr. Cheerleading Coach (3yrs), Team Mom for many school sporting & fundraising events(20+yrs), Youth group leader and Community Volunteer. One of my talents is cooking/catering and I have worked in many restaurants, Arbor Hospice, Assisted Living facilities and St. Joseph Hospital during the past 46yrs. A good meal and conversation can bring so much comfort and joy. Within the communities we lived I have been an active volunteer as a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, PTA, Church, and Chairman for Christmas in April – Whitmore lake, a former National non-profit started by President Jimmy Carter providing home repairs to seniors, disabled and low income residents(3yrs). Volunteering is my passion and a wonderful way to share your gifts with others.

Catherine Sotero
President

I am a mother of 4 children and 3 granddaughters. I was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised on Long Island. I had a career in accounting for 16 years and held various accounting positions for restaurants and different companies. Later in life, I returned to school and received my Bachelor of Science in Pre-law with Honors at the age of 50, while working full time. I decided to start a law career and I worked full time as a Paralegal for 14 years. Four years ago, I decided to go back to school and get my law degree, while working full time. I received my Juris Doctor degree in Law in March of 2023, and I am in the process of taking the Bar exam in July of 2023. Through all of this, I felt it was important to give back to the community and have always been involved in volunteer work for community and church activities. Currently, I offer my services as an accountant for my church.
I believe in the work of Prelude Home and what it stands for and I am honored to serve as Treasurer and Future Counsel for the Prelude Home.
